SOUTH BEND - Nancy Siarkowski of South Bend, IN, and recently, of Chicago, IL, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 26, 2017, in Symphony of Evanston Rehabilitation and Assisted Living. Nancy was born March 23, 1930, in South Bend, a daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Jaskowiak) Rogowski. She grew up in South Bend where she belonged to St. Adalbert Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. On August 2, 1952, in St. Adalbert Church, she married Ted Siarkowski. The couple made South Bend their home. Nancy was a very active volunteer at her church in St. Jude's and Sacred Heart later in life. In her twenties and thirties she was a fashion model for Robertson's Department Store, worked for Singer Sewing Machine Company as a secretary, and had several entrepreneurial endeavors including Especially for You bridal consulting along with activities such as the South Bend Art League, the South Bend Symphony, Corvilla Home for developmentally delayed children, Forever Learning classes taught about world travel and so much more. She has shown us how to live a strong spiritual life with much humor, joyful dancing, and the importance of keeping a family connection. She has had a career as a fashion model, bridal consultant and a travel business owner. She was blessed to have hundreds of trips to countless countries, 53 years of being in love with Ted “Shark,” and volunteered for so many causes. Her family was the center of her life and she is remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Nancy's surviving family includes her son, Kevin (Michael Kuby), daughter, Kim Amer (Michael), both of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Lily and Nathaniel Amer; three sisters, Margie Connell, Lucille Micinski, Beth Slater; and many nieces and nephews.
