Mishawaka Ben Wojciechowski Conrad, 74, of 620 W. 12th St., died at 7:10 a.m.
today in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mr. Conrad retired in 1973
from Bendix Corp., South Bend, after 31 years of employment. He was born Oct.
29, 1914, in Chicago and had lived in Mishawaka since 1940.

On June 22, 1944, in South Bend, he married Mary Taghon, who survives. Also
surviving are a daughter, Janice Pluta of Granger; three sons, Jin of Bristo.
and Dave and Alan, both of Mishawaka; five grandchildren; and three sisters,
Wanda Glascock of San Antonio, Texas, Dorothy Payton of Sevierville, Tenn., and
Esther Renkar of Chicago. He was a member of BK Club, Bendix Local 9 of the
United Auto Workers union and St. Bavo's Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Monica's Catholic Church, due to
renovation of St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Thallemer-Goethals
Funeral Home, where a wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may
be made to St. Bavo's renovation fund.
