Louis M. Boosi

Louis M. Boosi, 76, of Windsor Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died at 4:12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, in Hospice House. He was born on April 4, 1923, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Boosi retired in 1975 from the Bendix Corporation. On July 26, 1952, he married Elizabeth Gorka, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Mary Ann (Stanley Jr.) Harlozinski and Michelle Orlowski, both of South Bend, and Christine (Mark) Hoecker of Warrenville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Jacqueline Harlozinski, Stephenie Harlozin-ski, Victoria Orlowski and Kathrine Orlowski, all of South Bend, and Scott Hoecker and Zachery Hoecker, both of Warrenville; and by three sisters, Irene Martin, Elizabeth Granning and Patricia Talboom, all of South Bend. He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Steve, Julius and Joseph Boosi; and by two sisters, Anne Thompkins and Helen Boosi. Mr. Boosi was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and Korea. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #9820, the Marine Corp League, the Chain-O-Lakes Conservation Club, and St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 17, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, in the funeral home, with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
