After returning from the war, Alexander attended and graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, then moved to South Bend where he graduated from Notre Dame Law School in 1953. While at Notre Dame, he was awarded the Vint D. Vaughn prize for trial advocacy. He met Barbara Currey while performing in a Presbyterian Players theater production. Barbara, Rebecca and Daniel wish to express heartfelt appreciation to the caregivers and staff at Buchanan Meadows for the care and compassion given to Al the past five years. It was truly a long good-bye. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005, in the First Presbyterian Church, 333 West Colfax, South Bend, IN. Rev.
