Thelmelis Zacharias Karamalegos, 65, residing in Niles, MI passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, as a result of a car accident. He was born June 23, 1957, on the island of Kalymnos, Greece to the late Zacharias Antonios and Maria Themelis (Zervous) Karamalegos. Thelmelis moved to Michigan in 1967 at the age of 9 ½ years old. In 1980, he became a naturalized U.S. citizen. He lived in the Edwardsburg, MI area since 2005. Themelis opened and cooperated an automotive business, Guaranteed Auto, in 1991 with his son, Nicolas, which is still in operation today. Thelmelis is survived by three sons, Joshua T. Karamalegos, Zacharias T. Karamalegos, and Nicolas T. Karamalegos ; grandchild, Kaleb; sister, Kalotina (Nikitas) Karamalegos- Spanos; brother Dr. Antonios Zacharias Karamalegos; and three nephews, Antonios and Zacharias who are also his godsons, and Alexander. Themelis was a wonderful role model and father who raised his sons and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services for Thelmelis will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 7 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Homes - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Themelis will be laid to rest in the Agios Mamas Cemetery on the island of Kalymnos, Greece.
