KOONTZ LAKE - Irwin Emil Bohac passed from this Earth on November 14, 2017. He was born April 9, 1922, in North Judson, Indiana. Irwin was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dolores C. Bohac. Irwin was the son of Joseph and Anna Kajer Bohac, North Judson, both deceased. Irwin was the brother of Arthur Bohac, Gerald Bohac, Mildred Budka and Alice Heilmann, all deceased.Irwin was the beloved father of Betty Schoff of LaPorte, Indiana, Diane Powers and Greg Bohac. He was the grandfather of six and the great-grandfather of eight children. Irwin was a veteran of the Army's Company A, 382nd Infantry Regiment, 96th Infantry Division, and saw duty in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He was a member of the Walkerton chapter of the American Legion and was an avid Cubs fan. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. CST at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, where friends may visit Monday from 12 noon - 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Indiana.
