Michael James Egierski, 36, of E. Fairview Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died on Wednesday, Jan. 26, in the St. Joseph River. He was born on June 28, 1963, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Egierski was employed by the River Valley Sheet Metal Company. Mr. Egierski is survived by his parents, Carolyn (Ciupinski) and Walter Egierski, both of South Bend; a sister, Kathleen Allin of South Bend; and by a brother, Matthew Egierski of South Bend. Mr. Egierski was a member of Sheet Metal Worker Local #20, and was a peacetime Army veteran of the 82nd Airborne. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 28, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
