SOUTH BEND - Irene V. Hecklinski, 92, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Irene was born May 30, 1924 in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Anna (Kazmierczak) Bartol. On May 8, 1948 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Irene married William “Bill” Hecklinski he preceded her in death February of 2010. Irene was also preceded in death by brothers, Leo, Stanley, Joseph; and sisters, Sophie and Margarete. Survivors of Irene include a son, David (Andrea) Hecklinski; and daughter, Sandra Hecklinski both of South Bend; grandchildren, Michael (Kathie) Wentzel, Mark Wentzel, and Kimberly Kuemin; and one sister, Dorothy Fales. Irene enjoyed gardening roses, and humming birds. Per family request there will be no visitation or service for Irene. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. is assisting the family.
