MISHAWAKA - Rose Katherine (Plaia) Kambol, 83, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born August 29, 1933, in South Bend, IN, to Peter Michael and Anna Marie (Guagenti) Plaia. Mrs. Kambol is survived by three children, Samuel Kambol of South Bend, IN, Peter (Karen) Kambol of Peterborough, NH, and Ellen (David Ely) Kambol of New Boston, NH; and three grandchildren, John Reilly, Peter Reilly and Audrey Kambol. She is also survived by two brothers, Peter Plaia of Plymouth, IN, and Andrew Plaia of Plymouth, IN; as well as thirteen loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Reilly; her twin, Pauline Banghart; sisters, Francis Rohr and Anna Jankowski; and brothers, Joseph Plaia and Frank Plaia. Mrs. Kambol was a gifted painter, seamstress and poet. Rose came from a large Italian American family and was very proud of her heritage. She was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed. Private graveside services and interment will take place at Southlawn Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, South Bend, is assisting the family with arrangements.
