NILES - Marilyn S. Gaideski, 74, of Niles, Michigan passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born on May 25, 1941, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Carl and Crystal Thompson. On July 23, 1960, Marilyn married Bill Gaideski, who survives. Along with her loving husband, Marilyn is survived by one daughter, Tracy Beck (Mark Lundy) of Niles, Michigan. She is also survived by three sons, Bill II (Paige), Tony (Deb), and A.J. (Kelly), all of Niles, Michigan. Marilyn is survived by eleven grandchildren, William III (Christi) Gaideski, Sarah (Jeff) Gerrits, Samantha Beck, Cody Beck (Kate Prentkowski), Carly Beck, Jackson Gaideski, Alaina Gaideski, Jada Gaideski, Katie (Michael) Filley, Dylan Hulett, and Mac Gaideski. Marilyn is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Other survivors include one sister, Norma (Harlan) Worden; and four brothers, Richard Thompson, John (Debbie) Thompson, Garry (Patty) Thompson, and Kevin (Julie) Thompson; and sister-in-law, Rosalie White. Marilyn's mother-in-law, Ann Gaideski also survives along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Along with her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Thompson; sisters-in-law, Margie Thompson and Mary Ann Losievski; and brothers-in-law, Ted Losievski and Ralph White. Marilyn worked as a secretary at Niles Automotive Supply and AAA Insurance. She loved spending time with her family and friends. An active parishioner at St. Mark Church, Marilyn served on the Church Council and was a member of Christian Mothers. She was a founding member of the Notre Dame Fan Club- Barn Chapter and a member of the Niles Art Association. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 24, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, Indiana 46628. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25 in the St. Mark Catholic Church, Niles, Michigan, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimer's Association .
