South Bend - Charles R Tyler, 82, passed away at 2:05 am, Monday, December 28, 2015 in his home. Charles was born December 23, 1933 in South Bend to the late Robert and Lillian (Squint) Tyler. Charles is also preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Tyler; and step-son, John Vardaman. On July 30 1960 Charles married Betty Jean (Ott) Tyler; she survives along with grandchildren, Amie (John) Greenboam, and Michael (Jessica) Vardaman all of South Bend; great-granddaughter, Kayla Smith; and a sister, Nancy Dudkowski. Charles honorably served his country in the United States Army. Visitation for Charles is 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where a Funeral Ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
