SOUTH BEND - Rose Flowers Cionek, 78, of Transitional Health Services for South Bend, formerly of South Scott Street, died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday in the nursing home. Mrs. Cionek retired from Ball Band, Mishawaka. She was born Feb. 4, 1917, in South Bend. On July 27, 1935, in South Bend, as Rose Flowers, she married Leo Cionek. He died July 1, 1987. She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Sipocz of South Bend and Tina Vida of St. Joseph; a son, Richard of Granger; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Harry Flowers, Pete Flowers, Clem Flowers and Zigmund Kwiatkowski, all of South Bend. She was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church and its Sacred Heart and Rosary Society. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, where a rosary will be said at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
