Henrietta M Wolak
February 2, 1920 - March 3, 2018
New Carlisle - Henrietta M Wolak, 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family she loved so dearly in the Hospice House of St. Joseph County. Henrietta was born February 2, 1920 in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Lottie (Ceboska) Kurlanski. On August 6, 1937 Henrietta married Walter Wolak he preceded her in death on February 25, 2002. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Thomas Hammer. Survivors of Henrietta include her children, Joan (Dean) Cooper and Fred (Janice) Wolak; grandchildren, Mark (Bonnie) Elledge, Donald (Mindy) Elledge; great-grandchildren, Chad, Jordan, Ryan and Travis Elledge; sister, Lucy Barkala; special nephews, Robert (Barbara) Gorski, Edward (Peggy) Barkala; niece, Susan Vlasis; great-great niece, Dawn (Edwin) Plonski; and more loved nieces, nephews and friends. Henrietta loved taking care of family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. Visitation for Henrietta will be held 5:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, Thursday, March 8, 2018 in the Sacred Heart Parish Chapel of the University of Notre Dame. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Death is nothing at all-I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to each other that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name; speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Play, smile, think of me, and pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near just around the corner. All is well, nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before-only better infinitely happier and forever-we will all be one together with Christ. Memorial Contributions may be made to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 or 104 Sacred Heart Parish Center of Notre Dame, Notre Dame Indiana 46556. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
