Mrs. Mary Frances Kertai, 53, of 1244 N. Eclipse St., died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of six months. She was an employee of Gene's Restaurant on Bendix Dr. Born March 28, 1917 in Clark County, Ind., she came to South Bend in 1937 from Jeffersonville, Ind. Her husband, Ernest S. Kertai, survives, along with her mother, Mrs. Hazel Stricker of Jeffersonville; and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Mae Watson of Ashville, N.C., and Mrs. Leonard Culp of Louisville, Ky. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hickey Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by Rev. Russell A. Deitch, pastor of the First Christian Church. The body will then be taken to the Scott Funeral Home in Jefferson for services there at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Charlestown Cemetery, Charlestown, Ind.
