SOUTH BEND - Former South Bend resident, Steven Louis Lisek, 84, of Three Rivers, MI, died at 2:43 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010, in Riverview Manor, Three Rivers, following a lengthy illness. He was born September 1, 1926, in South Bend, to the late Hattie (Kalamaja) and Stephen Lisek. On June 18, 1949, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend, he married Bette Burke, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Karen Webber (James) of Plano, TX, and Maribeth Marlow (David) of Knoxville, TN; one son, Michael Lisek (Doreen) of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren, Beth Mundy, Blair Webber, Kristen, Alison, Jessica and Jake Lisek, and Matthew and Drew Marlow; one great-grandson, Cilas Mundy; and one sister, Helen Kawka of South Bend. He was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Lisek. Steve retired as an auditor for Ford Motor Company in Dealership Development. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. While living in South Bend he was a member of BPOE Lodge #235, VFW Post 8748, and St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. He was currently a member of Immaculate Conception/St. Clare Catholic Church, Three Rivers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, November 5th. in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2120 E. Jefferson Blvd. Cremation will follow with burial at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. at a later date. Friends may call from 2 until 6 p.m. Thursday, November 4th. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road.
