NEW CARLISLE - Frances M. Nowacki, 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at the Hospice House of Elkhart. Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Danny) Benson; two sons, John (Robynne) Nowacki, and Michael (Robin) Nowacki; a sister, Josephine Sopczynski; and a brother, Edward Olszewski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will prayed at 4 p.m.

ELKHART - Frances passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, in the Hospice House of Elkhart at 8:45 p.m. She was born on March 9, 1921, in South Bend, Indiana, as the daughter of the late Stanley Wietrzynski and Victoria (Rembleski) Wietrzynski. Surviving are a sister, Josephine Sopczynski of South Bend, and a brother, Edward Olszewski of Stevensville, MI. Also surviving are her three children, Susan (Danny) Benson of Mishawaka, John (Robynne) Nowacki of New Carlisle and Michael (Robin) Nowacki of St. Joseph, Michigan. She has 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. As the former Frances M. Wietrzynski, she married Stanley J. Nowacki on January 22, 1949, who preceded her in death on December 1, 1993. Frances was a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church of New Carlisle. She served on the Altar Rosary Society for several years. In her later years she enjoyed volunteering at the Hamilton Community Nursing Facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will prayed at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
