Joan "Jo Ann" M. Koehler, a loving, faith-filled, and kind woman, was called home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2023. Born on June 9, 1936, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Joseph and Valerie (Paskiet) Poznanski; she remained a lifelong resident. Joan is survived by her sister, Mona (Sam) DeSimone of Granger. One sister, Bonnie (Joseph) Koczan, preceded her in death. She was the proud Aunt to Chris (Sheri) Koczan, Joseph (Eileen) Koczan, Sandra Koczan, April (Todd) Pontius and Dawn (Kent) Craig; and the Great Aunt to Christopher, Alyssa, Briana, Rachael, Sarah, Michelle, Austin, and Dylan. Joan’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her as a beacon of light and love. Joan dedicated many years of her life to her career at Surplus Insurance Brokers as a records controller. In her spare time, Joan enjoyed playing Euchre and darts, and she was always busy with one activity or another. Her laughter and her warm smile will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Joan’s faith was the cornerstone of her life, and it provided her with the strength and courage to face life's challenges with grace and dignity. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on May 1, 2023, at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2320 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend. Inurnment will take place, after the Memorial Mass, at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, IN. Charitable contributions in memory of Joan may be given to Pet Refuge, 4626 S.
