Came SBd, spent 3 yrs, then went to a wild & unimproved farm consisting principally of swamp land & here they suffered many privations & hardships. Built farm into 1 of the finest in the Kankakee Valley. Completed education here, became agriculturist & in 1907 owned an estate of 160 acres in Olive Twp known as the Woodbine farm. In Feb 1890 he wed; wife died 11 mon later; 1 dau Mary. On 5 Sept 1893 rewed & had 7 more children: Elizabeth, Henry[aka Harry] , Frank, Leo, Alexander, Julia & Bernice aka Brenay .
