OSCEOLA - Sharon L. Smolka, 73, of Osceola, IN, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Friday in her residence. Sharon was born on October 23, 1943 in South Bend, IN to Adrian and Aletha (Price) Benson. On April 8, 1988 in Phoenix, Arizona, Sharon married Gerald C. Smolka. Gerald preceded her in death on September 30, 2016. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Verna (Willie) Floyd of Mishawaka, IN; her stepchildren, Anita Taylor, Jennifer Smolka and Jeffrey Smolka, fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, her sister, Kathy (Jack) Kretchmer of North Carolina and a brother, Billie Benson of South Bend, IN. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Carla Cox, a sister, Francis Simmons and a brother, Kenny Benson. Sharon retired from A.M. General. Visitation will be on Monday, July 17, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.
