South Bend - Maria E. Rangel, 54, passed away peacefully Friday, October 23, 2020 in Memorial Hospital. Maria was born October 13, 1966 in Mezquitic, Mexico to the late Pedro Lopez and Anastasia Ibarra. Left to cherish the memory of Maria is her loving husband of 32 years, Alvaro Rangel; their children, Erik (Vanesa Espinoza) Rangel and Cynthia Rangel; and granddaughter, Katia Lopez. Maria loved growing plants, sewing, and cooking. She was an excellent cook; and her family appreciated the love she put into the meals she made them. Maria also loved going to Mexico to visit her family. She was a very caring and loving person. Maria looked out for everyone she met and would help them whenever she could. Her unique laugh was filled with so much happiness, it positively affected everyone around her. The joy Maria brought to others will be greatly missed. Visitation for Maria will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
