SOUTH BEND - On October 14, 2014, Dorothy L. Kujawski was called to heaven and reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Raymond, and her good friend, the dear Lord. Born February 21, 1925, to the late Boleslaus (Bill) and Stella (Zalewski) Cholewczynski. Dorothy married Raymond Kujawski on March 2, 1946. Theirs was a true, unique love; for 31 years she was his caregiver as a result of an accident. Raymond preceded her in death on January 5, 1995. She was preceded in death by a brother, Norbert Cholewczynski; sisters, Virginia Kolesiak, Gertrude Van Laere, Theresa Cholewcznski; and her son-in-law, Kenneth A. Goodchild. Surviving are her children, Robert R. (Darlene) Kujawski of Fort Collins, CO, Margaret L. Goodchild of Savannah, GA, Susan S. (Kendall) Gray of City of Mountain Park, GA, Anne Marie (Alan) Sears of South Bend, IN; a sister, Adeline Hes of South Bend, IN; and a sister-in-law, Rita Cholewczynski of Venice, FL. She has seven grandchildren, their spouses, and two great-grandchildren. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana. A devout Catholic, she believed in prayer, love of life, family and friends. Dorothy was a member of the Altar Rosary Society Holy Cross Parish, and many Harvest House Clubs including Holy Cross, St. Stanislaus, St. Casimir's, St. Patrick's, St. Adalbert's, and St. Stanislaus Terre Coupe. Dorothy was a resident of Sanctuary at St. Paul's, South Bend, Indiana, for the last five years. While residing at St. Paul's, Dorothy was a member of the Bell Choir and the Performance Choir. Her smile and kind words brought so much happiness to all the workers, staff and residents, and she loved them all. Visitation will be at 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, October 17, followed by a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial in the chapel at the Sanctuary at St. Paul's, 3602 South Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana. St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., is assisting the family with arrangements.
