[N34605] Michael J. Ambroziak
May 16, 1942 - March 3, 2023
St. Charles, Missouri

Michael J. “Mick” or “Mike” Ambroziak of St. Charles, MO, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023, at the age of 80. Loving husband of 56 years to Judith Ambroziak (née Poznanski); beloved son of the late Joseph and Estelle Ambroziak (née Grzegorek); devoted father of Ellen (Chris) Verzino, Barb (Chris) Darrow, and Karen (Mike) Cizek; dear brother of Barb (Mike) Fontayne, John Ambroziak, Joseph (Claudia) Ambroziak, Ann Gallaher “Crannie Annie Appleton”, Margaret “Meanie Margie Mapleton” (Bruce) Miller; cherished grandfather of Meredith Verzino, Cameron Verzino, and Megan Darrow; unforgettable brother-in-law and uncle; close friend of Paul Cretin; and doting owner of Hobo. Mike was from South Bend, Indiana. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as an engineer at McDonnell Douglas for 27 years and then the United States Postal Service until retiring. In addition to learning, he enjoyed working with computers, collecting watches, and going to the firing range. Mike loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, working in his yard, taking care of his cars, and was a die-hard Notre Dame fan (Go Irish!). Organized to a fault, he gave the word “perfection” a new meaning. He could build, fix and refurbish anything and spent much of his time thoughtfully trying to solve the world’s problems. Mike was dearly loved, and his ornery personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Missouri.
