Roger L. Buwa

Roger Buwa lost a 15 year battle with prostate cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family when he took his last breath. Roger was born November 1, 1944 to the late Frank and Ida (Lyons) Buwa. After graduating from Washington-Clay High School, Roger served his country in the Army and was stationed in Wurzburg Germany. On June 6, 1970, he married Leeanne R. Petree. He is survived by his wife Leeanne Buwa of 44 years, their children John Buwa, Paul Buwa and Ruth Samantha Buwa. Also surviving are five brothers: Marvin (Ann) Buwa, Frank (Teresa) Buwa, Jerry (Karen) Buwa, Richard Buwa, and David Buwa. Surviving as well are six grandchildren; Alicia Harris, Darius Buwa, Tyler James, Mya James, Johnathon Buwa, Kylynn Buwa and two Great grandchildren, Osiris Buwa and Neveah Buwa. Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Buwa. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Monday, December 29, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Rev. Charles Wiseman will officiate the 11:00 am funeral service on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Ireland Road Church of God; 16555 Ireland Road, Mishawaka Indiana 46545. Interment and military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. He was the sole owner of Roger's Auto Reconditioning in Mishawaka, and worked for Advanced Cleaning for over 15 years. He loved his little teacup Chihuahua, Minnie mouse. He loved Jesus and his church. He was a member of Ireland Rd Church of God and never missed a Sunday until he became too ill to attend. The family wishes to thank Michiana Rehab for their care and the Doctors and nurses at Memorial Hospital of South Bend ICU unit. In lieu of flowers, the Buwa family asks that donations be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
