MISHAWAKA - Evelyne Mary Cyrier, 91, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015, at the Golden Living Center Nursing Home in Mishawaka. Evelyne was born May 26, 1924, in South Bend, to the late George and Mary (Gorka) Zmudzinski. On June 23, 1945, in South Bend, Evelyne married Bernard Cyrier, who preceded her in death on March 8, 1983. Evelyne was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Survivors of Evelyne include her children, Jacqueline (Tom) Hoover of Mishawaka, and Gerald (Cyndi) Cyrier of Mishawaka; grandsons, Jason G. Cyrier, Joel B. (Sarah) Cyrier, and Patrick R. (Mary) Cyrier; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Alexis, Cameron, Sophia and Parker. Evelyne retired from Sears after more than 30 years. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the St. John's Altar Rosary Society. Since moving to Mishawaka, Evelyne was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Throughout the years, she participated in many church activities. Evelyne was a member of the St. Hedwig Golden Clusters and Hoosier Grandmothers Club. She enjoyed making Rosaries, cooking, baking, gardening, and watching Notre Dame football. Evelyne loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and hosting family dinners. Visitation for Evelyne will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 21, 2015, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., with a Rosary to be prayed at 4:30 pm. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday, October 22, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 E. Day Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545; or Alzheimer's & Dementia Services, 922 E. Colfax, South Bend, IN 46617.
