SOUTH BEND - Loretta T. Laskowski, 86, of Good Sheppard at the Sanctuary at St. Paul's, in South Bend, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011. Loretta was born on October 16, 1924, in Michigan City, Indiana to Frank and Emily (Kudzia) Koziolek. Loretta retired at the age of 61 in 1985, from the former College Locker Plant after being employed from 1962-1985. On October 4, 1947, Loretta married Joseph Laskowski who preceded her in death on October 6, 1977. A granddaughter, Sandra Laskowski also preceded her in death in 1977; and sisters, Genevieve Stellma, Joan Carlson; brothers, Leonard and Richard Koziolek; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Lucille Kujawski. Surviving is her daughter, Susan Laskowski of Mishawaka, Indiana; her son, James (Ana) Laskowski of Mishawaka, Indiana; a grandson, Joseph (Jayme) Laskowski of South Bend, Indiana; great grandchildren, Kailey Blakely, Joseph Laskowski, and soon to be born Anthony James Laskowski; a sister, Rita Pieschala of Michigan City, Indiana; and a brother Gerald (Carol) Koziolek of Arlington, Texas. Loretta was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society of St. Hedwig Catholic Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Good Sheppard and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana, with burial to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, Indiana.
