SOUTH BEND - Dorothy Marie Frances Kazmierczak passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 in the Hospice House of St. Joseph County. Dorothy was born on July 5 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Jenny (Kubiak) Rydzinski. On May 14, 1955 Dorothy married Leonard Kazmierczak; he preceded her in death in 1956. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard and Irvin Rydzinski. Survivors of Dorothy include her son, Joseph Kazmierczak of South Bend; sister-in-laws, Barbara and Violet; and nieces and nephews, Brian, Debbie, Rick and Ruth. Dorothy was a graduate of Washington High School. She then attended Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, and graduated with a Registered Nurse Degree in 1950. Dorothy was employed with Memorial Hospital and Dr. Pauszek's office. She was also a MR Falconette, bowled at PNA, and enjoyed arts, crafts, baseball and football. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 24, 2017 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
