SOUTH BEND - Pearl K. “Sally” Jaworski, 99, of South Bend, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. She was born on May 9, 1916, in Knowlton, WI, to the late Peter and Regina Ciula. She was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers, a son-in-law, Dale McDaniel and a family friend, August Cooreman. As Pearl Ciula she married Frank Jaworski on May 14, 1938. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1980. Surviving are a daughter, Marlene McDaniel of Indianapolis; a son, Ronald F. (Diana) Jaworski of South Bend, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Sally worked at Bendix Aviation during WWII as a drill press operator. As well as being a wonderful homemaker, she then worked for the South Bend Community School Corporation as a food service worker at Ardmore School and Jessie Dickinson School. To the students she was affectionately known as “Miss Sally.” She always had a kind word and extra helpings for them. Sally was a member of the Ladies of the Moose #1057, DAV #6, St. Adalbert's Harvest House and the Rosary Society of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, of which she was a member from its inception. She loved dancing, bingo, cards, Las Vegas, the gambling boat and ND football. Sally faced her old age with grace, dignity and gratitude. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3526 St. Johns Way, South Bend.
