[N1470] John Kwasniewski / Kwasneski and Praxedia / Freda (Kaczmarek) Family

John was born June 3, 1870 in Prussian, Poland and came to this country as a child about 1886, settling in the area around Morris Run. PA. John had a younger brother Andrew and they worked together in the mines of Pennsylvania. Sometime after 1908 he moved his family to South Bend, Indiana.

He will marry the former Praxedia Freda Kaczmarek in Pennsylvania about 1890, her mothers name was Eva and she survived her daughters death in 1934, living in Blossburg, PA. There will be eight children born to this union; Sophia, Martha, Francis, Violet, Stanley, Leo M, Bert, and Frank J.

John will pass at age 62 after an illness of four years and Praxedia will follow on January 1, 1934, the first traffic fatality of the year. She was struck by a bus while crossing the street at the intersection of Washington and Main.

They rest in St. Josephs Cemetery
