[N27153] Loretta Mae Muszynski
August 10, 1931 ~ January 12, 2021 (age 89)

Loretta Mae Muszynski, age 89, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in her home. She was born on August 10,1931 to Ed and Anne Urbanski in South Bend, Indiana. Loretta was a graduate of South Bend Catholic High School, and longtime employee of her and her husband’s family business, Muszynski Insurance Agency. Together, they built it into a thriving venture which served the insurance needs of the people of South Bend for over 70 years. In that time, Loretta became a beloved member of her community, most prominently as a Silver Legion of Honor Member at M.R. Falcons. Loretta spent the latter half of her life at Magician Lake on Maple Island in Dowagiac, Michigan, with her loving husband, Ralph. In her early days, she spent time entertaining friends, family, and loved ones. As Loretta got older, she dedicated her life to caring for her beloved grandchildren. She spent her days cooking them delicious meals, taking them for car rides, and buying them things their parents wouldn’t. Loretta will be remembered by all as a loving sister to Theresa, Joann, Esther, and Rita, as well as the most kindhearted aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Most of all, Loretta will be thought of as an adoring wife to her late husband, Ralph, and a giving mother to her daughter, Lori Anne. Loretta is survived by her sister, Theresa “Terry” Sharpe; daughter, Lori (Edward) Voorde; and her cherished grandchildren, Molly, Marijane, and Sam. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, family and friends have decided to postpone her Mass at St. Matthew Cathedral, and subsequent celebration of life, until May or June of this year. Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545, or online at www.foundationforhospice.org/donate Online condolences may be left for the Muszynski family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
