SOUTH BEND - Frank V. Klota, 88, passed away at 12:35 pm, Monday, May 18, 2015 in Memorial Hospital. Frank was born October 13, 1926 in South Bend to the late Stanislaus and Louise (Luzny) Klota. On August 12, 1950, Frank married Theresa "Therese" Koszewski in St. Stanislaus B&M Church. She preceded him in death in 1996. Survivors of Frank include his children, Frank (Susan) Klota, Vicky (Larry) Peak, Mark (Michele) Klota all of South Bend; grandchildren, Jason of South Bend, Kim (Heath) Wright of Walkerton, and Ben Peak of Muncie; sister, Roberta (Gordy) Langner of Roseland; sister-in-law, Loretta Klota of South Bend; and many nieces and nephews. Frank honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II earning the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory and Good Conduct Medals. Frank was a member of American Legion Post #357. He worked at Casey's Bar, Singers, Edward Iron Works and Ball Band (Uniroyal) where he worked for 33 years and retired in 1985. After retiring, he was a Handyman at St. Stanislaus B&M Church and then St. Adalbert's Church. He enjoyed painting, gardening, hunting for mushrooms in the fall and was an avid fisherman. Visitation for Frank will be 10:00am to 11:30am Thursday, May 21, 2015 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm in St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be directed towards American Legion Post 357, 5414 W. Sample St., South Bend, IN 46619, and Our Lady of Fatima House & Shrine at Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana 46556, and St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church, 920 Wilber St., South Bend, Indiana 46628.
