Mrs Agnes May Bowker, 78, of 226 Zigler St, New Carlisle, died at 6 am today (6/18/1969) in Community Hospital, Buchanan. She had been ill one week. She was born May 18, 1891, in LaPorte County to Harlen & Lena Bennitt and lived in this area all of her life. She graduated in 1910 from New Carlisle High School.
Agnes married Charles Edward Bowker, on July 3, 1910, at the home of her parents, in LaPorte County Indiana. He preceded her in death in 1953 She is survived by two sons, Harold E & Charles O, both of New Carlisle; two daughters, Mrs Estes (Erma) Headley of New Carlisle, and Mrs August (Darleen) Albright of Niles, MI.; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Clara Hauser of New Carlisle. Preceding her in death along with her husband, are two sons, Earl D and Ersol F both buried in the family plot in the old section, up front, in the first row next to County Line Road.
