SOUTH BEND - Phillip James Beelaert, 51, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 in his home. Phil was born June 16, 1964 in South Bend to Emiel “Bill” and Irene (Piechocki) Beelaert. Phil was preceded in death by his father. Phil is survived by his mother, Irene Beelaert of South Bend; his children, Ashley Beelaert and Alexandra T.N. Beelaert, both of South Bend, and Cameron P.J. Beelaert of Mishawaka; his granddaughter, Aaliyah T.N. Freeman; brothers, Gregory J. (Bryan Barr) Beelaert of South Bend, William (Debbie) Beelaert of Granger and Mark Beelaert of Utah; sisters, Karen A. Beelaert of South Bend and Saundra M. (Randy J.) Kosinski of Dayton, OH; and his niece and nephews, Lindsey, Christopher and Spencer. Phil was a 1983 graduate of Washington High school. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and a member of Teamsters Local 150. Phil had a big heart. He was always willing to help others in need. Most of all he loved spending time with his children, granddaughter and friends. A Memorial Mass for Phil will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 Mayflower Rd., South Bend, IN. Rev. Bradley Metz will officiate. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
