Jadwiga "Harriet" Ejsmont
June 15, 1924 - Jan. 27, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Jadwiga "Harriet" Ejsmont, 88, born June 15, 1924, in Wysokie Laski, Poland, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013. Jadwiga married Wladyslaw "Walter" Ejsmont, to whom she was a faithful and devoted wife, preceded her in death. Jadwiga is also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Leonarda Mielenkiewicz. Survivors of Jadwiga include a niece and godchild whom she raised, Danuta (David) Dinello; sisters, Waclawa Lindorf, Wladyslawa Kurylowicz; and she was an aunt to Jerzy (Krystyna) Sadanowicz, Antoni (Boguslawa) Kurylowicz, Jozef (Grazyna) Kurylowicz, Leonarda (Kazimierz) Utko, Regina Jurkowska and Jolanta (Ather) Mahmood. Jadwiga immigrated to the United States in the 1960s; she worked at White House Manufacturing and in housekeeping at the University of Notre Dame. In her free time, she enjoyed entertaining, gardening, and taking care of the household. All will miss her kind heart, generosity, hospitality and good nature. Visitation for Jadwiga will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm today, January 31, 2013, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, February 1, 2013, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Bishop & Martyr. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Wysokie Laski is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Sok©dlka, within Sok©dlka County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with Belarus.[1] It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) south of Sok©dlka and 35 km (22 mi) north-east of the regional capital Bialystok.
