SOUTH BEND - Stephanie L. Klota, 87, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010, in Unity Medical Surgical Hospital, Mishawaka, IN. Stephanie was born on June 16, 1923, in South Bend, to Stanley K. and Louise (Luzna) Klota, and was a lifelong resident. She retired from the Notre Dame Bookstore, and had also been employed with Amoco Insurance in South Bend for 27 years. Survivors include her sister, Roberta (Gordon J.) Langner of South Bend, IN; her brother, Frank Klota of South Bend, IN; her sister-in-law, Loretta Klota of South Bend, IN; and by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Aline Klota; and three brothers, Stanley, Wendall, and Waldemar Klota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010, in St. Hedwig Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Stephanie was a member of St. Hedwig Parish. She was a wonderful and loving sister. She enjoyed watching Notre Dame football games, walking her dog, and gardening. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Hedwig Church.
