Bonnie M. Niemier, 68, of South Bend, IN, passed away bravely following a long illness, at 7:17 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2008, in Hospice House. Bonnie was born on October 15, 1940 in South Bend to Russell and Sally Mae (Vincek) Bedwell, and was a lifelong resident. She was employed with Crawford and Company for many years as an Insurance Adjuster. On November 26, 1960, in South Bend, as Bonnie M. Bedwell, she married Frank J. Niemier, who preceded her in death on May 25, 2008. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Gooding of South Bend, IN; her son, James (Jan) Niemier of Zion, IL; six grandchildren, Alaina, Adam, Allison, Abigail, Ashley, and Andrew; and her brother, Dwayne (Mary Lou) Bedwell of Cincinnati, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2008 in Holy Family Church. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until 1:00 p.m. Monday in Holy Family Church. Bonnie was a member of Holy Family Parish. She was a gentle and generous, caring person. She was the most unselfish person you would ever meet. She opened her home and made everyone welcome. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was very proud of her family. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
