EDWARDSBURG - Anne Lorelei Hess of Edwardsburg passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, at her home with her family surrounding her. She leaves behind her husband, Henry Hess; her daughters, Theresa Miller and Carrie Hess; her sons-in-law Tracy Miller and Paul Was; and her granddaughter Katelyn Miller. She is also survived by her siblings; Eleanor Miller, Dick Kingsbury, and Chuck Kingsbury. Anne was born on July 11, 1948 to father Eugene Kingsbury and mother Ruth (Moller) Kingsbury, who preceded her in death. Anne was honest, forthright, sincere and feisty. She enjoyed shopping and bargains and hiding things away for later. She loved to travel, enjoyed good food, visiting family, and snuggling her kitties. Anne loved spending time up north at the lake cottage in Kalkaska, Michigan and socializing with neighbors, going to wineries and visiting casinos. Anne enjoyed taking walks with her granddaughter Katelyn. She loved talking politics and was an elected democratic representative for Jefferson Township. Anne studied at Southwestern Michigan College and spent most of her working career as a customer service representative in sales and classified sections for the Elkhart Truth, Edwardsburg Argus and Niles Daily Star. She was working at Nibco, Inc. when she retired to pursue a life of leisure. Anne has touched many lives and was a friend to most, but loved by all. Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation on Saturday, February, 25, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St., Edwardsburg, MI. The Celebration of Life Service will be on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 3:00 PM, with an hour of visitation from 2:00-3:00 PM, at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev Dan Thomas. Those wishing to make a donation in Anne's honor may do so to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, 1317, King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
