Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. John was a W.W. II Army Veteran. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish; a lifetime member of the Breezers Club; a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357; and a member of Bowlers Country Club, where he was a member of the mens Friday morning retiree golf league. John was an avid golfer in the City of South Bend for many years. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame, and always watched P.G.A. Tour events on television. Since suffering a stroke two years ago, his loving children had taken care of him in their home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3526 St. Johns Way, South Bend, IN 46628. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered, "come to Me". The golden gates stood open; God knew you needed rest. His garden must be beautiful for He only takes the best. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
