SOUTH BEND - Loretta Catherine Zygulski, 90, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 in her residence. Loretta was born January 1, 1924 in South Bend to the late Casimir and Frances (Dolniak) Skowronski. Loretta married Ignatius Zygulski on Aug. 17, 1946 in St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on February 5, 1963. Survivors of Loretta include her sister, Delphine Ladewski of South Bend; nieces and nephews, Donna O'Hara, Samantha (Jason) Ziegert, Sarah (Steven) Spurrier, Patrick J., Sean P. O'Hara, James Lee Ziegert, Clement W., (Bonnie), Alan F. Dennis A. Sniadecki; many cousins and special friends, Joseph and Theresa Bella; and her special buddy, Rusty. Loretta retired in 2009 from South Bend Uniform where she was a seamstress for 26 years. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society. Loretta also was a member of Harvest House, St. Hedwig Golden Clusters, and Eagles Auxillary #435. She enjoyed dancing, especially to polka music, watching Notre Dame Football and basketball, solving word puzzles, and tending to her garden. Visitation for Loretta will be 2:00pm to 6:00pm Sunday, August 24, 2014 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday, August 25, 2014 in St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield St., South Bend, IN. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield St., South Bend, IN 46628.
