SOUTH BEND - Irene M. Banicki, 88, formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at The Pavilion at Brightmore in Charlotte, NC. She was born on March 28, 1928, in South Bend, IN. She was a retired beautician and a member of St. Anthony DePadua Catholic Church of South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helena Jablonski Uniewski; her husband, Richard Banicki, to whom she was married to August 2, 1947; a brother, Stephan A. Ruthowski; and a sister, Jean Wukovits. Survivors are nieces: Patricia Peters Bowles and Janet Smith, both of Indian Land, SC, and Debra Jean Hemingway of Seattle, WA; and a nephew, Bruce Wukovits of South Bend, IN.
