SOUTH BEND - Andrew R. DeCook Senior, 78, of Palm Coast, FL (formerly South Bend, IN) passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha; daughter, Cindy DeCook Hoffer; son, Andrew DeCook Jr.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews too numerous to count. He graduated from Washington High School in 1952 and served honorably in the U.S. Navy as an airplane electrician from 1952-1960. He married Martha in 1956 and worked in the building materials industry for 45 years. In his youth he enjoyed fishing and he was an avid golfer. He was devoted to his family and took great pleasure in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a lifetime Notre Dame football fan, rarely missing a chance to watch a live or televised game. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast. There will be no services and cremation will be at Clymer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice in his memory.
