Maria Micskey Szasz, age 96, of South Bend, IN passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Maria worked at South Bend Tackle for four years, Associates for 17 years, and DataLink for 5 years before retiring in 1983. Maria grew up in Budapest, Hungary before moving to the States in 1951. She became a US citizen 7 years later. Maria was born on August 25, 1921 in Sopron, Hungary to Joseph and Maria (Zalka) Kisfauldy. Maria married Istvan Micskey, who preceded her in death in 1972. She was then married to Ernest Szasz on September 4, 1976 in South Bend. Ernest preceded her in death on February 9, 2014. Maria is survived by her sons Nicholas Micskey of Seattle, WA, Stephan P. Micskey of Fiji Islands. A memorial service for Maria will be held 10:00 am Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Sanctuary at St. Paul, 3602 S Ironwood Dr., South Bend, IN 46614. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 -10:00 am Thursday prior to the service. Memorial contributions in honor of Maria may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 226 N.
