I will tell you everything I know about my great grandfather Ladislaus/Michael W Kalamaja. Since it doesn't seem like you have much info on him. He was born Aug. 22 1876 in poland or finland cause he told my grandmother that the kalamaja name meant fish house in finnish. He died Aug. 4 1959. He married Maggie/ Magdeline Bogacz. He moved to Omaha, Neb. between 1900-1902. They had 8 children Leone-1902, Roman 1906-1966, Theodore 1907-1989,Marian 1913-2004, Leo, 1915-1944, John 1916-1993, Dorothy 1918- , Ruth 1923- He was a barber. If you would like to know anything else I would be more than glad to help you further your research as in return it could help further mine. Thank you again for all this great info!
I think both my great grandfather and great grandmother are buried here in Omaha but I do not know where and my great grand mother Magdeline was born in Sherman, Nebraska. I'm great uncle Leo was killed in WW II as a POW. I have not been able to find a death date on my oldest great aunt Leone thru my research. My Great Uncle roman worked for the union pacific railroad for many years and died in Multnomah, Oregon. My Grandmother dorothy was a nurse at the creighton hospital here in Omaha before having children. That sums up most of what I have found thru my research on ancestry.com.
