La Porte - Eleanore Anne "Ellie" Schnable, 79, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021. Ellie was born October 18, 1941, in South Bend, Indiana to the late William and Anne (Muszynski) Malec. On August 29, 1964, Ellie married Charles Kenneth Schnable in Terre Coupe, Indiana who survives. Ellie loved with all her heart and is survived by her husband, Ken; two sons, K. Dirk (Amy Tomczak) Schnable and W. Brook Schnable both of La Porte, Indiana; two sisters, Connie (Tom) Williams of Lakeville, Minnesota, and Rose (Dan) Horak of South Bend, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant daughter, Theresa Schnable. Ellie graduated from New Carlisle High School in 1959. She was a homemaker. She was the bookkeeper for Schnable Alarm Systems INC. for 45 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Anne Circle of St. Joseph Church, St. Joseph Rosary Sodality, and past president of St. Joseph Home and School Guild. She loved her dogs, spending time in her flower gardens, and creating arts & crafts. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. followed by a Memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana. A Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 C Street, La Porte, Indiana 46350 or the La Porte County Animal Shelter, 2855 W.
