SOUTH BEND - Clare H. Ross, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008, in the Sanctuary at St. Joseph. Clare was born on August 22, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Michael and Joan (Otolski) Tomaszewski. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Ross, who passed away in 1970; a daughter, Marilyn Ross, who passed in 1995; sisters, Bernice Hoffman and Sally Thomas; and by brothers, Walter, Casey and Al Tomaszewski. Surviving Clare are her daughter, Judith Kruszynski of South Bend; son, Michael (Vicki) Ross of Granger; grandchildren, Mark Kruszynski of South Bend, Steven (Chantel) of Indianapolis, Benjamin (Juli) Kruszynski of Elkhart, Linsey (Quentin) Gibson-Ross of Granger and Kylie Clare Ross of Granger; great-grandchildren, Bradley, Brett, Blake, Brock and Skyler; sisters, Clementine Matuszak of South Bend and Alice Bliss of Miami, FL. Clare retired from the civil service after working 15 years in the Defense Contract Administration. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church and vice president of the Harvest House. She also belonged to the Sisters Auxiliary and the Altar Rosary Society.Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 22, from 2: 00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in ST JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 23, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorials may be made to Riley Children's Hospital Juvenile Diabetes or to St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
