South Bend-Norman C. VanDeSompele, 77, passed away on Thursday, August 18 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Norman was born on December 13, 1933 to Maurice and Rachel (Verplatze) VanDeSompele. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Maurice A VanDeSompele and a nephew, Mark VanDeSompele. Surviving are his sister-in-law, Suzanne VanDeSompele of Mishawaka; nieces, Jayne (Quinn) Wurz of Mishawaka and Julie Fry of Oshkosh, WI; nephew Brad (Veronica) VanDeSompele of La Grange Park, IL; niece-in-law, Sylvia VanDeSompele and many great nieces and nephews. Norman was a Draftsman. He worked for Studebaker, Bendix and AM General. As per Norman's wishes there will be no visitation and no services. The family will be doing something private at a later date. Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
