==================
At the time of the 1910 census, Paul G. Eichorst, son of Paul & Tillie Eichorst, was 9 months old and was living with his family in Chicago, Illinois. [His father had married Tillie T. Paprocka in South Bend, Indiana, on Feb. 16, 1907 (image of marriage records, familysearch.org).]
According to the Cook Co., Illinois death records, Tillie Eichorst died in Chicago on May 19, 1910 and was interred in St. Lucas Cemetery. The informant's understanding was that she had been born Oct. 23, 1886 in the United States and that her father's name was John Paprocki.
His father remarried on Apr. 30, 1912 In South Bend: Rev. R. Marciniak, C. S. C., pastor of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, married Paul Eichorst and Antonina Janiak. It was her first marriage; his second, his first marriage having ended by death on May 9, 1910. (images of marriage records, familysearch.org)
By the time of the 1920 census, Paul, then 10, was living with his father, his step-mother, Anna, and his siblings, George and William, in South Bend, Indiana. At the time of the 1930 census, Paul, 20, was living with his brother George and George's wife in York, DuPage Co., IL where Paul was a dispenser at a soda fountain.
On Aug. 4, 1934, Paul married Mary Magdeline Paege in Cook Co., Illinois (Cook Co. IL marriage index). In the 1940 census, Paul and Mary and their two children were listed living in South Bend, Indiana where Paul, 30, born in Illinois, was a press feeder at a paper box factory.
Paul registered for the WWII draft reporting that he had been born July 20, 1909 in Chicago, that he was a resident of South Bend where he was employed by the Campbell Box & Tag Co., and that his next of kin was Magdeline Eichorst. He signed it, Paul Gustave Eichorst, Jr. (image on Fold 3.com))
His date and place of death are given in his Indiana death certificate for which the informant was Dr. John Eichorst. He reported that Paul was a widower and had been employed at the Campbell Box & Tag Co. It was his understanding that Paul had been born June 28, 1909 in Illinois to Paul G. Eichorst, Sr.
No timely record of Paul's birth has been located to confirm either his date of birth as given in his draft registration or in his death certificate, hence only the year has been entered in the statistical section above.
