SOUTH BEND - Faylene S. Roetzel Egyhazi, 77, passed away at 4:43am Thursday, October 31, 2013 in Memorial Hospital. Faye was born on September 5, 1936 in Columbia, South Carolina to Benjamin and Elizabeth (Keels) Newman. She was a registered nurse with the St. Joseph County Health Dept. who loved dancing and traveling. On December 4, 1954 in LaPorte she married John B. Roetzel Sr. He died on January 28, 1965. Faye was also preceded in death by a son John B. Roetzel Jr., a sister Gussie Baker a brother John Zernick and a stepson James Egyhazi. On September 4, 1982 she married William Egyhazi who survives along with a daughter Elizabeth Roetzel of Raleigh, NC; a son James H. (Lisa) Roetzel of North Augusta, SC; 4 grandchildren Jamie Chambers, John B. Roetzel III, Lisa Penny, and Molly Gregorich; 6 great-grandchildren Collette, Marissa, Bryson, Logan, Madison, and Austin; a stepson Bill (Diane) Egyhazi and a brother Frank (Barbara) Zernick of LaPorte. Family and friends may call from 1-4:30 Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 South Kemble Avenue where services will be celebrated at 4:30pm Sunday. Private burial will follow.
