MISHAWAKA - Raymond J. Piechocki, 80, of Mishawaka, passed away at 8:15 am, Friday, December 26, 2008 in his home. Ray was born on March 21, 1928 in South Bend to the late John and Mary (Wroblewski) Piechocki. On August 1, 1953 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend, he married Adeline Rayski. His is survived by his loving wife, Adeline and their three children, John (Nancy) Piechocki of Lake Village, IN, Jan Effertz of Osceola and Shirley (Chuck) Pritchett of North Liberty; five grandchildren, Casey, Cody, Christopher, Melissa, and Jennifer and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Theodore of South Bend and Bernard of Mishawaka and one sister Irene Lamineck of Chicago, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bert, Clem and Louie and seven sisters, Josephine Piechocki, Gladys Snook, Gertrude Parker, Sally Daszyski, Mary Lafferty and Virginia Olson and Clara Szymanowski. Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict becoming honorably discharged in 1952. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, VFW Post 360, Mishawaka and Fraternal Order of Eagles #435. He will be remembered for his love of music, woodworking, family get togethers and traveling with his wife. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Monday, December 29, 2008 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. A Mass of Ch ristian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, by his nephew, Father Bruce Piechocki, with one hour of visitation prior to the Mass.
