SOUTH BEND - M. Loretta Barthel, 88, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on February 27, 2014. M. Loretta was born in South Bend, Indiana on April 10, 1925 to William and Theresa Augustine. M. Loretta is survived by four children, Sandra Potokar, Karen Nowak, Nancy Burkus, and Chris Barthel. Her husband Robert O. preceded her October 24, 2013 and her first born Robert L. preceded her on May 19, 1990. She has nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. She also has numerous nieces and nephews that she loved. M. Loretta will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitation 10:30 -11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 Noon, Thursday, March 6, 2014, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Center for Hospice Care, Inc.
