INDEX

[N19700] Cosimo Figliomeni
Oct. 5, 1932 - August 12, 2018
SIDERNO, ITALY - Cosimo passed away peacefully at home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Riccio; daughter, Rosalba; and son-in-law, Vincenzo Merenda. Surviving is his son-in-law, Francesco Pellegrino; daughters, Emilia and Giuseppe Sgambelluri, Silvana Merenda, and Susanna and Carlo Pasqualino; son, Carlo and Maria Figliomeni, seventeen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He married Rosetta Riccio in 1957. He lived in Thunder Bay, Ontario for thirty years and the rest of his time in Italy. While working in the Canadian grain industry, he moved back to Siderno, Italy in 1971 to raise his family, but would continue to travel back and forth in order to best support his family. He was known for his strong convictions, talkative nature, witty compliments, and joyous personality. He loved to garden, make wine, take on construction projects, and spend time with family. His friends would tell you he had many opinions but always had others' best interests in mind. He taught us how to live, laugh, and love. We will miss him dearly. There will be a Funeral Mass on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, South Bend, IN 46613. Published in South Bend Tribune on Aug. 31, 2018
